1. Select Job or Role

Select a Job (e.g. field sales person) or Role (e.g., coaching) of interest

2. Identify Key Competencies

Identify key competencies associated with the job or role

  1. Generally 5 - 10 competencies will satisfy most jobs or roles
  2. The Competencies titles should use the organization's language
  3. These Competencies should reflect the organization's agreed upon "ideal" characteristics of a top performing individual in the job or role of interest

Describe Key Competencies

Describe Key Competencies in plain language and the traits required by each of these competencies

  1. A paragraph of text with a Competency description
  2. List of personal traits the competency requires (along with one sentence description of trait)
  3. There should be general agreement among management on the description of these Competencies
4. Map Skills to Competencies

The next step is for InnerTalent professional staff to fully discuss with representatives of the organization the document created in step 3

  1. Insure that there is a clear understanding of the organization's vision for the position
  2. InnerTalent identifies the set of Skills* that support (constitute) the Competency
  3. The organization reviews the final document, including Skill assignments, which becomes the "system specification" for the job or role
5. Archetype Ideal

This optional step allows the system to generate a single 0 - 100 score from the test for any job or role, based on weighted values resulting from interview with management

6. Customize language

InnerTalent incorporates the final information produced in step 4 into the training platform for the target job or role

7. Additional Customizing

Any other organizational requirements for customization (graphics, logo, access rules, integration with HR systems, etc.) are identified and incorporated into training platform

8. Deploy

The training system is deployed according to organization's requirements

  1. Organization's Competency titles and descriptions will appear throughout the system, in Reports and Coaching
  2. The test will identify individual strengths and weaknesses based on the Competencies agreed upon by the organization
  3. The Coaching module will support the evolution (development) of the individual's underlying Skill weaknesses to improve performance in the target job or role

* InnerTalent has a library of 80 broad Skills that are scored by the test and can be used to support any Competency defined
